The tradition has been cultivated for a century

Nursery has been the pride of the company for almost 50 years. Thanks to this practice, the scions and rootstocks that are best suited to the various types of soil are chosen.


The parable that goes from the production of scions to the final shoots is punctuated by a precise rhythm which represents the fundamental condition for obtaining targeted oenological objectives and high quality standards.


The quality of the wine is set up in the vineyard: the use of rootstock and variety of shoots aimed at a specific oenological objective is a fundamental condition for obtaining high quality standards.

The scions and rootstocks, mainly produced in the farm, are of sure and selected varietal origin and kept under continuous sanitary and agronomic observation.

The nursery experience enjoyed by the company allows a choice of top quality products, guaranteeing the production of fine grapes and wines.

Barberis has its own fields of certified rootstock mother plants.

The company plays by cutting kernels seedlings Tonda Gentile Trilobata (T.G.T.), variety considered among the best in the world for its features: the result clear, thin shell, high output to shelling, good peel to roasting and maintaining taste and aroma in the processing is completed.

Barberis farm is authorized by The Italian Health Service and it is accredited by the Piedmont Region with the code no. CN/01/0014.

In order to get from the Piedmont region the suitability and the certification for the production of the material, the stump is annually subject to plant-health checks.

The suckers to be planted in the nursery are taken annually from the stump; in the fall, after the uprooting, the seedlings undergo a careful selection ensuring the customer a high and uniform quality in order to be marketed.
